As we entered our fourth episode we just had finished doing episodes introducing the show, covering quirky signs and landmarks in Branson, Missouri, and did a show focused solely on Artificial intelligence.
The show will heavily focus on weird signs and messaging, but occasionally will veer off and go on other side topics as we are very much finding our sea legs.
During the course of the year (with the exception of our holiday episode which was the last one taped), all of our shows were taped in chronological order, so when you heard episode two, that was the second episode taped. Our holiday episode is considered a bonus episode and if you listen to it, it is not matching up to the structure we have done in the other general episodes as we just were more chill and wanted to sort of do our take on a holiday variety show.
That said, I do want to note we did start some new experimental elements in this episode.
Every show we map out the order of our talking points. There is no set script outside of the commercial bits, but there is definitely an outline. I bring in photos or in the case of the AI episode, bullet points and ideas, and we then expand upon them and might discuss who will introduce what and just spit ball from there.
In this episode however, I decided to start with a more conversational discussion after our announcer introduces us about something that happened in our lives. In my case, it was about me having to have staples punched in my scalp to heal a bleeding wound that happened when my head hit the rim of my car door, which Annette did not know anything about until we were recording the actual episode.
Since the show revolved around health care messaging, I decided why not open the show with a how is your day banter chat tied to the topic, but she has no clue on what I am going to spring on her during that discussion. As we were doing the remaining episodes, I started to do this a bit more and will continue to start doing this in future shows as I think it makes it more the show loose and more off the cuff.
As always, once we get done taping the show, Ludwik goes back in to listen, add sound effects, AI enhancements, and other fun sounds, to make the show more vibrant, funny, and creative to the listeners tuning in. This takes a lot of time but is well worth it.
Dermatology Celebrating 25 years of Practice
In the beginning, Lud talks about his foreign trips and how in Morocco a lady from the Netherlands wanted to know about what it is about the American health care system that is so complicated. He says to her do you have several hours to discuss and mentions to Annette that he is well versed in health care due to having to train on the Affordable Care Act. However, if he did not do that for a living, he would be so lost.
He then brings up the English language again and how as a teenager was at the dermatologist was scared out of his mind when he saw a banner that said Dr. x Dermatologist, celebrating 25 years of practice, as he was waiting for the Dr. to example a pimple outbreak on his face. He brought up how he asked the office receptionist, about the sign and his concerns because shouldn't they have it down by now, to which they just stared at him.
The best Health Care in The World - To Cure Scalp Injuries We use a Stapler and Staples
Lud discussed neuralink and all of these advances in medicine and how just before this show was recorded he banged his head on the car resulting in his scalp bleeding. He then went to his primary doctor who sent him to the ER, who then told him to treat the injury, they have to staple my head shut.
I never was aware staples are used on humans and now am concerned because when I staple papers, papers fall apart. I would rather have stitches done to which Annette refers to as sewing. I never called stitches sewing, but Annette had to ruin that for me.
Lud asks about how the procurement works when it comes to ordering staples for the doctor's office and how do you word that you are going to have a procedure where they put staples in your head? What do you do to not scare people from this? His sister freaked out a day later after he told her previously that his head was stapled shut.
A friend of Lud's suggested to say they are closing the gap, but that does not sound good. Lud discusses that they are being taken out within the week and the next episode on January 7th, we will discuss how the staple extraction works. Annette discusses the staple removal freaking Lud out. Lud puts in audible descriptors imagining guts coming out and is not looking forward to it.
Fever or Rash Consider Measles

We discussed this text and how I read this initially as though Measles in text could be a potential better alternative. Text can be read in many verbal contexts. Heck if you are red in Arkansas you could be a great Razorback fan. Are they saying Measles is a better illness or if you have fever and rash consider yourself lucky it could be worse, for you could have had measles.
Worst Theme Park Marketing Campaign

Lud shares how this is the worst theme park new promotion ever. How can you not have fireworks on the 4th of July. It is ruined.
Annette brings up in the discussion as I talk about the holiday that Halloween is not a holiday nor is the 4th of July. It becomes a semantics sounding board and we go round and round on it. But regardless Lud will not be going to celebrate fireworks at Holiday World anytime soon.
Dr. Side Hustle

Lud shares a text a friend wrote him when he was checking about their health. He then found out that not only did their neurologist visit go well, but they also got their dress for the wedding.
Lud wishes they is a show on fox called Dr. Side Hustle. But it is an interesting nice gig and I think neurologists could make a nice amount of change from this.
No Bare Feet Smoking

Lud shares a concerning sign during a vacation he took in 2014 in Maine. The picture is very concerning.
He brings up if your bare feet are smoking you need to go to the hospital and stay the heck away. Annette says maybe they were charged per character, to which Lud says they probably were a character. Lud says whoever wrote this is a character and suggested that if your bare feet are smoking, you should take your bare feet over to Holiday World so they can have Smoke for the Fourth of July section.
As a result, people will be happy for there will be smoke for the 4th of July and everyone goes home happy and I will be happy for I can be at a rest area without having to see any bare feet smoking and chowing down on lobster rolls.
